The braking system is the key technology of high-speed railway, and the brake disc is the key component of the braking system. China has more than 20,000 kilometers of high-speed rail, making it the world's largest high-speed rail network.But the brake disc has been monopolized by world giants such as Japan's kawasaki, Canada's bombardier and Germany's Siemens etc.

CMEC (CMMC’s shareholder) started to research and develop high-speed train brake disc in 2013, and made a breakthrough in 2017, CMEC has completed the development of 3 categories and 10 specifications of brake disc products, the brake discs are wheel and axle mounted brake discs with a speed of 200-250 km/h and 300-350 km/h respectively, and the brake discs of high-speed heavy-duty locomotives, and a total of 5 utility model patents were obtained.

Through the testing and verification of foreign third parties and domestic laboratories, the brake disc produced by the company has met the requirements of same foreign products, and some of its performance has exceeded the quality of same foreign products.The braking disc of the high-speed railway with a speed of 250 km/h and 350 km/h has completed the practical operation examination of 600,000 km/h, the brake disc of high speed and heavy load locomotive has completed the practical operation examination of 200,000km, the products are excellent performance, and has been in mass production.

At present, according to the national strategic deployment,CMEC is developing brake disc with a speed of more than 400 kilometers per hour, with a view to boosting the made in China 2025 in a broader and deeper way.
