3 OVERVIEW
Alloy 28 is a highly alloyed austenitic stainless steel offering resistance to a variety of corrosive media. By virtue of its contents of chromium and molybdenum, the alloy offers resistance to both oxidizing and reducing acids and salts. The presence of copper increases its resistance to sulfuric acid.
4 APPLICATION
Alloy 28 is used in the chemical and petrochemical processing industry. Alloy 28 tubes are cold worked to high strength levels for downhole service in moderately corrosive deep sour gas wells.

12 FEATURE OF EXTRUDED SEAMLESS TUBE
Extrusion pipe production is completely different from skew rolling and roller rolling and has following characteristics
(1) Compared with other methods of tube process, extrusion method is characteristic of the metal in the process of forming through three-way compressive stress, which can be used to produce low plasticity steel and alloy, such as zirconium alloy, titanium alloy, Ni-Cr-Fe heat resistant alloy, etc for application of atomic energy industry and special chemical industrial. And good surface quality could be obtained.
(2) Extrusion method has great flexibility and mobility due to the simple die, easy to manufacture and replace.
(3) The specification range of tube produced by extruder is larger than other process.
(4) Compared with other methods of tube process, extrusion can get better quality, the mechanical properties of tube are more even, and the inner and outer surface of the tube is better than that of rolling.
13 HOT EXTRUDING UNIT
(1) 25MN broaching machine and 63MN horizontal extruder imported from Danieli of Italy. Max. extruding speed:300mm/s, max extrusion force 62.17MN, annual production capacity 40000MT.

16 HEAT TREATMENT
The recommended heat treatment for UNS N08028 shall consist of heating the material to a temperature of 1975 to 2100°F (1080 to 1150°C) with subsequent quenching in water or rapidly cooling by other means.
The scale shall be removed by suitable means. When bright annealed, scale removal operations are not necessary.
